The Ultimate Melted Swiss & Savory Onion Chicken Bake

 


Ingredients (The 4 Elements)

  • 4 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) Condensed French Onion Soup (being poured in image_529274.jpg)

  • 4 to 8 slices Provolone or Swiss cheese

  • 1 cup Garlic croutons (or crispy fried onions for that classic soup topping texture)

  • From the pantry: Salt, heavy black pepper, and a little cornstarch if you want to thicken the gravy at the end.

Instructions

  1. Prep the Base: Lay your raw chicken breasts flat at the bottom of a greased slow cooker. Season them lightly with salt and black pepper.

  2. The "1 Mixture" Pour: As shown in image_529274.jpg, pour the entire can of condensed French onion soup directly over the chicken, making sure the onion pieces are spread evenly over the meat.

  3. Slow Cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours (or HIGH for 2 to 3 hours) until the chicken is tender and cooked through.

  4. The French Onion Upgrade: Open the lid, arrange the slices of Provolone or Swiss cheese right on top of the chicken breasts, and scatter the croutons over the cheese.

  5. Melt and Serve: Cover it back up for 10 to 15 minutes on low until the cheese is completely melted, bubbly, and gooey.
