Ingredients (The Real 3 Ingredients)
1 to 2 lbs Smoked Sausage (like Kielbasa or Saucisse), sliced into thick rounds
3 to 4 Bell Peppers (a mix of red and green, sliced into strips)
1 large Sweet Onion, sliced into strips
Optional pantry add-ins for flavor: 1 jar of your favorite marinara sauce (if you want it saucy) OR just a drizzle of olive oil, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
Instructions
Prep: Slice your smoked sausage into thick chunks and slice your bell peppers and onions into thick strips (exactly like you see in
image_ddf7b9.jpg).Toss in the Pot: Layer the onions and peppers at the bottom of your slow cooker, then throw the sliced sausage right on top.
Season or Sauce: If you like it dry/classic, drizzle with a tablespoon of olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. If you want a rich sauce to spoon over rice or sandwiches, pour a jar of marinara/pasta sauce over everything.
Cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours (or HIGH for 2 to 3 hours). The peppers and onions will get perfectly tender, and the sausage will release all its savory juices into the pot.
